Hello everyone, my name is Sailusha Gosala and welcome to The Passionately Curious! I am so excited to have you on this journey as I navigate the complex world of marketing. I will be exploring various topics in digital marketing, and through my blog posts, hope to show you that to be an effective marketer today, it is all about being agile and constantly pushing your learning. The world is evolving rapidly and it’s up to us to stay ahead of the curve and keep our humanistic touch!

A little bit of my story:

I was born in India (in Vizag located in South India) and my family moved to Chicago about 20 years ago. I was 5, an only child and in a town where I was one of the only non-caucasian children. This crazy shift in my life has definitely helped shape who I am today! A few years after, when I was 10, my mom had to move to NYC for a job and it was just me and my dad for 2 years. Both these experiences led me to grow up a little too fast and I became an independent child very quickly. We later moved to NJ to keep our family in one place and I graduated from a diverse high school and later went on to NYU for my bachelors.

Growing up as an only child filled in a strange world (at least, as a young kid moving from India to a non diverse area) fueled my curiosity about those around me. This curiosity led to me pursuing my bachelors in Marketing because I wanted to continue exploring human behavior.

After graduating, I worked for 3 years at Deloitte in a digital marketing role, focused specifically on UX and web optimization, along with SEO. I have always had a knack for data and wanted to combine this into my career. As those around me started looking into entrepreneurship, my passion for wanting to help female entrepreneurs grew and thus, my marketing analytics company, UnicornCX, was born!

While growing my business, I started my journey at NYU (yet again – I will always be a Bobcat at heart!) in the M.S. in Integrated Marketing program and I could not be more excited as I continue this path! I hope to use my experiences growing up to offer a unique perspective in the world of digital marketing!

Some fun facts about me:

• I am a trained, classical, Indian dancer and performed my graduation performance (2 straight hours) in front of 800 people in India after High School
• I am a Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings FANATIC
• I LOVE country music (yes, I might be the only Indian girl to come from New Jersey who even listens to this genre of music) while my fiancé listens to R&B and Hip-Hop so you can say our car rides are interesting when it comes to the radio
• I always tell people my name sounds like “solution” without the “n” and this turned into a thing at work that I was the “solution to all their problems”
